High Octane Chili

National Chili Day is a crowd favorite when it is the middle of winter! Today we are sharing one of our best-loved chili recipes. Check it out today, and enjoy it tonight!

Ingredients

½ onion, diced

1 lb. lean ground beef

1 tsp. vegetable oil

1 (6 oz.) can Italian tomato paste

1 (15 oz.) can chili beans

1 (15 oz.) can black beans, drained & rinsed

1 (14 oz.) can fire-roasted tomatoes with garlic

1 (16 oz.) bottle dark beer

1 tsp. sugar

Salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and chili powder to taste

Your favorite chili toppings

Directions

Cook the onion and beef in hot oil until done, crumbling it while it cooks. Stir in the tomatoes, beer, sugar, salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and chili powder. Simmer 30 minutes or so, until thick and yummy, or transfer to a slow cooker and let it cook until you're ready to eat.

Load up with your favorite toppings or eat it plain. Either way, it's spectacular! Makes about 8 cups.

The game's important, the food is paramount! Check it out in our cookbook called Tailgating: Upping Your Game for more fun recipes like this!
