Flank Steak Pinwheels Recipe

The filling in these pinwheels adds mouthwatering flavor to the steak. The best part? They only take FIVE ingredients to make!

Serve 'em hot off the grill for instant gratification! This means grocery shopping is easier and less expensive! And less prep means fewer dishes to clean and more time to get on with your evening.

You’ll be left with good food, full stomachs, and happy people. How can you go wrong?


  • ⅔ C. sun-dried tomatoes (not packed in oil)
  • 1 lb. flank or flat iron steak, trimmed
  • 2 tsp. minced garlic
  • 3 T. bacon- or jalapeño-flavored cream cheese spread
  • 1 C. fresh spinach, coarsely chopped


  1. Place tomatoes in a bowl and cover them with boiling water for 10 minutes or until softened; drain, finely chop, and set aside. 
  2. Grease a grill rack and preheat the grill on high.
  3. Meanwhile, pound steak to ¼" thickness. Rub garlic all over both sides of the steak. Spread cream cheese lengthwise in a 3"-wide strip down the middle of the steak. Top with spinach and chopped tomatoes. 
  4. Starting at one long edge of the steak, roll up tightly, tucking in the filling as you go. Sprinkle the outside of the roll with salt and black pepper if you’d like. Push eight toothpicks evenly spaced through the roll, catching the edge of the steak to secure. Cut the roll between each toothpick to create eight equal pieces.
  5. Grill several minutes on each side, until done to your liking, turning carefully. Let rest 5 minutes before serving.
